Little Free Library
“Take a book, return a book” is the basic concept of the Little Free Library. At this time, there are over 32,000 registered Little Free Libraries in the U.S. and over 70 countries around the world. These book exchanges are about more than just providing free books, they are an extension of the community they represent. It is the idea of promoting literacy and working together as one to make sure the collection is cultivated and grown.
Little Free Libraries are popping up throughout Central Florida, including a new location at ScribbleSpace in Summerport Village located in the high growth area of SW Orange County called Horizon West. Books are being collected weekly on Saturday mornings and children are already dropping off and borrowing books.
Neighbors who have participated in the book exchange so far love the concept and enjoy seeing kids engage in reading and experience the love of books!
